After getting nervous about messages of a new available WordPress upgrade I just did hit the upgrade button to get the latest and greatest version. Surprise surprise nothing was broken after the upgrade like all the others i did in the past. For sure most of the time in the past the issue was more or less caused by my web hosting provider STRATO. It seems they had some technical limitations in their smaller webhosting packages like limited memory and timelimits/timeouts for script runs. However after switching to a larger web hosting package for my sites all the issues are gone.
